Lent 2010 at St Nicholas
Our lent activities in 2010 take as their theme Henri Nouwen's book The Return of the Prodigal Son, which in turn focuses on Rembrandt's great painting of the same name. There will be four sermons on the theme at Sunday Parish Mass, there'll be a study course on Wednesday evenings, and there'll be a 'virtual course', using this website and Facebook.

Study Course
We will be using a 5-part course produced by Darton Longman & Todd based on Nouwen's book. Each session comprises audio material on the week's theme together with sets of discussion questions. We'll provide copies of the painting to help with this aspect of the discussion. The 'physical' and 'virtual' courses will run in parallel, so you can switch from one to the other, or take part in both if you wish.
The physical courses will take place in the newly welcoming Lady Chapel, on Wednesday evenings at 8.00pm (after the 7.30pm Mass), and on Thursday mornings at 10am (after the 9.30am Mass).
The virtual course materials will be made available on the Sunday of each week, and the discussion will happen on a dedicated Facebook group. For more details click here.
