Since the mid 1980s the Friends have given important support for the church’s upkeep. They exist to help with the repair, maintenance, preservation and renovation of the building, its contents and the churchyard.
Funds for this work are raised through subscriptions, concerts, talks and other events. Friends receive free admission to these events, and also receive regular newsletters. The latest newsletter is here.
Funds raised by the Friends made a major contribution to the recent restoration of the monument to Sir Thomas Chaloner. They also paid for cleaning the baptistery, re-emblazoning its monuments and restoring the Queen Anne hatchment. The Friends have also provided funding for renewal of the sound system in the church and for new noticeboards.
St Nicholas Church needs its Friends to continue their support for this parish church.
Will you help by becoming one of them?
Whether you live in Chiswick or further afield, whether you attend the church or value it for its architectural and historical interest, your membership of the Friends will help to preserve this beautiful and important building, its records and its surroundings.
