Dear Friends

We are fast approaching our most important feast. Full details of our Holy Week and Easter services are contained in this e-bulletin. Please remember that at 10.30am on Palm Sunday 10 April we will be welcoming Bishop Sarah, Bishop of London, who will be presiding at our Palm Sunday service. It would be wonderful to see you at church to welcome her. I have just a couple of pleas –

We have lots of flyers at the back of the church, could you help to deliver them through the letterboxes of the parIsh? It would be a massive help to us if you could.

We are also having a few canapes after mass on Palm Sunday together with some wine. If you could provide some food that would be wonderful.

Also – I am looking for readers for our Holy Week services. specifically Good Friday, the 15th April at 2.00pm and for the vigil at 10.30pm on Holy Saturday 16th April. If you are willing to read please sign the sheet at the back of the church and I will ensure you have your reading in time.

Finally here is a prayer that we are going to use on Sunday for the people of Ukraine. I invite you to make it your own over the coming days.

God Bless

Simon

God of all peoples and nations,
Who created all things alive and breathing,
United and whole,
Show us the way of peace that is Your overwhelming presence.
We hold before you the peoples of Ukraine and Russia,
Every child and every adult.
We long for the time
When weapons of war are beaten into ploughshares
When nations no longer lift up sword against nation.
We cry out to you for peace;
Protect those who only desire and deserve to live in security and safety
Comfort those who fear for their lives and the lives of their loved ones
Be with those who are bereaved.
Change the hearts of those set on violence and aggression
And fill leaders with the wisdom that leads to peace.
Kindle again in us a love of our neighbour,
And a passion for justice to prevail and a renewed recognition that we all play a part in peace.
Creator of all hear our prayer
And bring us peace. Make us whole.
